Hello Games has unveiled its latest No Man’s Sky update, “Voyagers,” introducing massive, fully customizable Corvettes that can accommodate entire crews. Players can now explore interiors with med-bays, sleeping quarters, and war rooms, while even modifying layouts during interplanetary travel. This marks a significant evolution in the game’s base-building mechanics, offering a more immersive and collaborative experience.

According to Hello Games director Sean Murray, the technology behind these expansive ships is being shared with the studio’s upcoming project, Light No Fire, which promises a truly open-world experience on a shared, Earth-sized planet. Murray revealed that the planet will feature vast oceans so large that players will require sizable boats and full crews to navigate them. He noted that “almost every part of the game has had to be reworked to accommodate these relative spaces,” highlighting the technical challenges involved in creating such expansive environments.

The introduction of these colossal ships in No Man’s Sky serves as a precursor to the scale and complexity anticipated in Light No Fire. Players can expect a seamless blend of space exploration and terrestrial adventure, emphasizing collaborative gameplay to traverse massive oceans. With both No Man’s Sky and Light No Fire, Hello Games continues to push the boundaries of interactive gaming, setting new standards for expansive, shared universes and redefining how players engage with vast, immersive worlds.
