At the recent PlayStation State of Play showcase, IO Interactive formally unveiled the voice and motion-capture cast for 007 First Light, along with its release date and key gameplay details. Patrick Gibson, known for his role in Dexter: Original Sin, will portray a youthful James Bond at the outset of his espionage career.

The newly announced ensemble includes Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny, Lennie James as Bond’s mentor Greenway, and Noemie Nakai as Miss Roth. The narrative positions Bond as a 26-year-old Royal Navy recruit stepping into the revived Double-O program, navigating treacherous conspiracies and gaining his Licence to Kill.

007 First Light is scheduled to launch on March 27, 2026. It will be available across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who pre-order the game will receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, which grants 24-hour early access along with exclusive in-game skins and outfits.

The gameplay presentation introduced two standout missions: one set during a covert operation at a chess tournament in Slovakia, the other unfolding at a glamorous gala in Kensington, London. Underlying the action is a “Creative Approach” design philosophy that empowers players to tackle objectives through stealth, combat, or improvised tactics. Bond’s tools include spycraft abilities like eavesdropping and clue discovery, an adaptive Instinct mechanic for bluffing or precision attacks, and an evolving gadget arsenal from Q Branch, ranging from lock-picking devices to futuristic spy gear.

007 First Light marks IO Interactive’s bold reimagining of the Bonds’ beginnings, emphasizing choice-driven gameplay, narrative depth, and stylized espionage. With its global rollout set for early 2026, the game promises to chart a fresh direction for the iconic spy franchise.
