Pokemon Go Raid Day September 2025 to Feature Mega Evolution Debut

Pokémon GO is preparing to unleash a fiery challenge as Mega Camerupt takes the spotlight in the game’s next Raid Day event. Scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, the limited-time event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and will mark the debut of Mega Camerupt in Mega Raids, with players also gaining the chance to encounter its Shiny form.

To support the occasion, Niantic is temporarily raising the Remote Raid Pass limit to 20, a change that will go into effect at 5:00 p.m. on September 27 and last until 8:00 p.m. PDT on September 28. During the three-hour window, trainers can also collect up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, making it easier to take on the fiery Ground- and Fire-type Pokémon multiple times.

For those looking to maximize rewards, a paid ticket priced at $4.99, or local equivalent, will be available, offering extra incentives such as eight additional Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs for a total of 14 in a day, an increased chance of receiving Rare Candy XL, a 50 percent XP boost from raid battles, and double Stardust rewards. An Ultra Ticket Box will also be offered through the Pokémon GO Web Store, bundling the event ticket with a Premium Battle Pass at the same price.

Battling Mega Camerupt will require careful planning, as the Pokémon’s Fire- and Ground-type combination leaves it double weak to Water-type attacks and also vulnerable to Ground moves. Upon defeat, players will have the chance to catch Camerupt in its base form with combat power ranging from 1,759 to 1,840 in normal weather, or between 2,199 and 2,300 under sunny skies.

The bonuses tied to the event will only be active during the three-hour Raid Day period, and while ticketed rewards offer additional perks, the increased Shiny rate, free passes, and higher remote raid cap will be available to all trainers. With valuable rewards, boosted chances, and the debut of a new Mega Evolution, Mega Camerupt Raid Day is set to become one of the most anticipated Pokémon GO events of September, promising both competitive battles and opportunities for collectors eager to add a rare Shiny to their lineup.
