Genshin Impact Leak Reveals New 5-Star Character Nefer in Version 6.1

A recent leak has revealed that Genshin Impact’s Version 6.1 will introduce Nefer, a new 5-star Dendro Catalyst character designed as a main on-field DPS. Her kit is said to revolve around a unique Lunar-Bloom mechanic that reshapes how the Bloom reaction works in-game.

According to early details, Nefer’s passive prevents her from creating traditional Dendro Cores. Instead, she transforms Bloom reactions into Lunar-Bloom, collecting Verdant Dew and stacking special effects to enhance her Elemental Skill. Unlike standard Bloom or Hyperbloom teams, which focus on area-of-effect damage, Nefer’s Lunar-Bloom produces powerful single-target attacks, meaning she will not synergize with conventional Bloom-based compositions.

Nefer is expected to be the only new 5-star debuting in Version 6.1. This gives players the option to skip the upcoming Version 6.0 banners and save Primogems for her arrival. Based on Genshin Impact’s 42-day update cycle, Version 6.1 is projected to launch on October 22, 2025. The first phase of the patch is rumored to feature Nefer’s banner alongside a rerun of Arlecchino, while the second phase could bring back Furina paired with another Fontaine character, possibly Escoffier.

Alongside Nefer, Version 6.1 is also expected to introduce Jahoda, a new 4-star Pyro Bow character. While her role remains unclear, early speculation suggests she could serve as a support or sub-DPS option.

The leak follows HoYoverse’s July teaser, “Song of the Welkin Moon: Moonlit Ballad of the Night,” which revealed 10 characters from the upcoming Nod-Krai region, including Alice, Varka, Durin, Lauma, Flins, and Nicole Reeyn. While Nefer has now been confirmed as a playable addition, it remains uncertain which of the others will eventually join the roster.

If accurate, Nefer’s debut could mark one of the most distinctive gameplay shifts for Dendro characters, introducing a DPS mechanic that prioritizes single-target Lunar-Bloom reactions over the wide-area damage of traditional Bloom teams. With her banner expected to headline Version 6.1, anticipation among fans is already building ahead of her official reveal.
